This work is the beginning of an ongoing process in documenting the natural surroundings of my personal space. With a never ending love for nature I feel the need to make an image of each planting interaction I have with the soil. Anna Atkins was an early photographer and botanist cataloging British algae in 1800’s and having an affection for her work I find myself following in her footsteps as I document my gardens. I anticipate recording all specimen around my home every year. Each year I plant new which creates my continuous series of planting habits.
